What’s new: Law enforcement authorities of China, Thailand, Myanmar and Laos have launched a joint campaign to crack down on illegal gambling and fraud perpetrated by organized crime rings in their border regions, according to China’s Ministry of Public Security.

The campaign will also target other gang-related crimes including human trafficking, kidnapping, and illegal detention, a statement published on the ministry’s website on Friday showed.
